Delete Your Account
We're sorry to see you go.
Important
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, all your data will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered. Please make sure this is what you want before proceeding.
Option 1: Delete from the App
The fastest way to delete your account is directly within the Bored. app:
- Open the Bored. app and log in to your account.
- Navigate to Settings (gear icon in your profile).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account".
- Confirm your decision by tapping "Yes, Delete Everything".
- Your account and all associated data will be scheduled for permanent deletion.
Option 2: Request via Email
If you cannot access the app, you can request account deletion by email:
- Send an email to contact@staybored.app
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include the email address associated with your Bored. account.
- We may ask you to verify your identity for security purposes.
Deletion Timeline
Immediate
Your account is deactivated and you are logged out.
Within 10 Business Days
You receive a confirmation that your deletion request has been processed.
Within 30 Days
All your personal data is permanently deleted from our systems.
What Data Is Deleted
- Your profile information (name, email, username, avatar)
- All feed posts, comments, and likes
- Direct messages and conversations
- Journal entries
- Activity history and challenge completions
- Boreds balance and transaction history
- Badge and achievement records
- Friend connections
- Duel and pushup party records
- Push notification subscriptions
- Uploaded files and profile photos
- Goal and task submissions
What May Be Retained
In limited cases, we may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes:
- Legal compliance: Records required by tax, accounting, or other legal obligations.
- Fraud prevention: Information necessary to prevent abuse or investigate violations.
- Anonymized data: Aggregated, non-identifiable statistics used to improve the service.
Your Data Rights
Before deleting your account, you may also exercise these rights:
- Data Export: Request a copy of all your personal data in JSON/CSV format.
- Data Correction: Request corrections to inaccurate personal data.
- Data Restriction: Request that we limit how your data is processed.
